why riptide
We were founded to provide an alternative to the traditional “travel” ball model by first developing young athletes into solid young men through hard work, accountability, and a passion for the game. We support and encourage our players to also play with their local Little League organization in addition to our program. We believe community participation is key to developing well rounded athletes, teammates, and adults.
The majority of Riptide Coaches are *non-parent* coaches who have a vast experience of baseball. We have had coaches who have played professionally, who have played at the collegiate level, and/or who have coached at the Collegiate or High School Level .
We focus on healthy competition, development, and want to educate players on how to take care of their bodies whether that's with strength training, recover techniques, stretching or flexibility training.
We are very aware that players, and parents, need to the right information of how to take care of arms during seasons. We focus on strength, flexibility, and rest days to help make sure players do their best to throw hard but also avoid injuries if possible.
We want 10 -12 players per team that are coachable and have a positive attitude. We reward kids for the their hard work, passion for the game, focus on the details, and commitment to excellence. We practice healthy competitiveness during tournaments, so playing time is never equal, but we will give kids ample opportunities to earn roles and move around in the batting order and defensively.
